Wikipedia says,
Sorbet is a frozen dessert made from sweetened water flavoured with fruit (typically juice or puree)…
. . .Okay, so technically, this isn’t exactly a recipe for sorbet, because there is no added water. But it’s pretty close.
This Blueberry Mango Sorbet recipe makes a quick, healthy, refreshing snack just waiting for your high-powered blender. (Where to find high-powered blenders) Try it on a hot afternoon (you might not have too many more chances since fall has officially begun); it’s a sweet treat for you, and I’m certain any child would love it.
Contents
Ingredients
- 1 cup frozen blueberries
- 1 cup frozen mango (We buy ours in big bags from the warehouse club)
- 1/4 cup coconut oil (where to buy coconut oil)
- 1/2 teaspoon wheatgrass (This is optional, but I love adding it for extra nutrition and energy.) – where to buy wheatgrass
- 1/2 teaspoon stevia powder or 15-20 drops liquid stevia concentrate (or substitute 3 tablespoons sweetener of your choice) (where to buy stevia)
Preparation
Combine all ingredients in blender and blend thoroughly, using the tamper to push the frozen fruit down.
If using a high-powered blender, don’t blend longer than 1 minute or you will start to melt the frozen fruit! You can put it in the freezer for half an hour if this happens, but you might have to let it thaw out a little after freezing.
Here it is in recipe card format, in case you need to print it:
