So… I’m in love.
We just had a new TJ Maxx and Ross built in our area of Tucson. I’ve never lived near one of these stores, not within a ten-minute drive.
It. Is. Amazing.
But here’s the deal. Did you know your local TJ Maxx is sporting some seriously good beauty deals?
There are some obvious beauty deals, like the discounted makeup section. But did you know you can practically build yourself a whole personal makeup vanity/battle station, just by shopping in TJ Maxx?
So come on a journey with me, around my local TJ Maxx. I’ll point out some obvious fun beauty deals — and some not-so-obvious deals!
This is not a sponsored post, no one has paid me to go sneaking around TJ Maxx, snapping pix bragging about their good deals. I felt like an investigative journalist… or a spy. Yeah, a beauty spy.
This applies to TJ Maxx, but you can also find great steals at other discount stores like Ross, Marshall’s, etc. So shop around! 😉
The finds at TJ Maxx and other discount stores change very rapidly, like every five days! Give yourself an excuse to check back often for more TJ Maxx beauty deals. Because I said you could. 😉
When shopping for, say, building a DIY vanity setup, you need to put on your creative eyes. Look at things beyond their normal uses – I’ll give you some examples later in the post. Many deals at these types of stores are serious multitaskers. Think outside the beauty box!
I purposely didn’t include pricing in this post, since prices and items will vary among stores.
Obviously, TJ Maxx has great prices on makeup. I didn’t even include the makeup in this post. Truth be told, I prefer makeup brands with “cleaner” ingredients, so I pass over a lot of the makeup brands I find there. But my focus today is more on beauty accessories and makeup vanity accessories/decor.
Let’s get started finding beauty deals at TJ Maxx!
Beauty Deal #1: Vanity Mirrors
TJ Maxx has a nice selection of vanity mirrors, all for a good price. Most of them light up with LED lights, and you can even spot some Bluetooth speaker mirror action in the bottom of the pic. Nice!
You can also find some nice sleep/eye masks. I even found a contoured sleep mask – so you lucky lash extension gals can sleep with lashes undisturbed. See below. Also found: satin pillowcases and exfoliating gloves.
You can find some seriously good prices on makeup brushes. They have tons of different sets to choose from. So much fun.
You can also find makeup brush cleaning mats at TJ Maxx. It’s not pictured, but they even had one designed like the cute See/Hear/Speak No Evil Monkey emojis. Pretty adorable.
Looking for a beauty blender sponge, but don’t want to pay the high prices? TJ Maxx has you. Some even come with a little drying stand. Love it. At these prices, you can buy 2 and alternate them, like I do.
This is the section that always gets me. I want to BUY ALL THE ACRYLIC ORGANIZERS. Just look at ’em! Swoon.
Okay. We’re out of the beauty accessories section. This is actually the more fun part to me. We’re going to venture around the kitchen section, and see what we can find there.
Here, we have a kitchen organizer shelf. But you know what? You could totally use this organizing shelf (and/or the bin below it) to organize under your bathroom sink or in your bathroom closet, if you have one. And you might even have room on your bathroom countertop for this.
I ventured upon a clearance end cap. Look at this cute little stationery organizer on clearance. You could fill it with glass beads like these and stock it with your makeup brushes or your eye pencils. You can place anything in here that will fit!
This is a little plastic cup that seems to be specifically made for organizing beauty items like makeup brushes.
I found many adorable trays/plates like this ocean-themed one. How cute is that. You could place makeup, jewelry, or something else on it. Also below, drawer liners that you can line bathroom or vanity drawers with to keep things from rolling around so much.
I’m sure you already knew that TJ Maxx has a large selection of coffee and tea mugs that could totally be repurposed into beauty organizers. Breakable, however, so make sure they’re secure.
I thought the idea of a champagne or wine glass made for a nice luxe-looking vanity setup. You could again, place glass beads and pencils or what have you in them.
Cake stands are some of my favorite multitaskers. You could use them to organize jewelry or makeup or skincare in your vanity setup. So fun!
Just more bowls and cake stands I found.
I found more flat dishes and trays for organizing beauty.
These large ceramic crocks could be used for something. Even though I’m not sure what exactly. Any ideas, my beauty geniuses?
A more varied selection of mugs and wine glasses to double as organizers. Or just to sip coffee/tea/wine from, whilst beautifying?
Another end cap, another wealth of ideas. These Michael Graves desktop organizers are a bit more masculine-looking than most of the beauty stuff, but it could also really work in a rustic-themed bathroom, where the traditionally chic decor might clash. Love the revolving dividers in the center. Also check out the mini decor/signage, and the little plastic baskets and drawers. Score!
Another angle. 🙂
Such cute jewelry trays. 🙂 I think the narwhal in the back is my favorite. Although I love the lion in the front, too.
In the stationery section, pencil organizers will definitely double-task for your beauty stash.
Plastic drawers galore. Check out the beauty decor at the very bottom!
Is it a pencil pouch? Or a makeup brush pouch? You decide.
For those with more space, this kitchen organizer could totally be used in the bathroom or bedroom to display beauty finds better.
Drawer organizers would be a big help in a beauty lover’s life.
Baskets, baskets everywhere! And divided organizers! Take your pick.
TJ Maxx has some cute beauty-themed decorations. Look at this one. Love!
More vases/crocks to use for organizing. And do take note of the LED string lights below – those could be adhered to a mirror to transform into a vanity mirror.
These tall glasses scream pencils or brushes to me. Or maybe nail accessories like nail files, etc.
If you don’t have drawers available at your beauty battle station, you could pick up a three-tiered stand on wheels like this one.
Or maybe mint green would be better.
A pillow for your vanity seat? And most DEFINITELY a girly rug like below!!
A BUNCH of bathroom beauty finds. Mirrors, vanity trays, dispensers, trash bins. So much to look at. This is why TJ Maxx is my happy place.
Look at these tiered corner stands! Sigh!
Okay, so there are the obvious places to look, like the makeup section and the bathroom section. But don’t miss out on randomly placed displays like I almost did. This was in the middle of the clothing aisles and could really dress up a vanity. Revolving dividers, organizing boxes, jewelry holders, and don’t miss out on the letter organizers that could totally be used to organize makeup palettes.
Sadly, my journey had to end as I couldn’t stay at TJ Maxx forever. More coffee mugs on the way out.
After paying for my beauty finds that day, I almost missed these really pretty canisters. Surely they could be used for something?
Well, that did it for our trip to TJ Maxx. I actually built myself (well, my husband did a lot of the building) a little DIY makeup vanity by using mostly finds from TJ Maxx, like these. I’ll share about those in another post soon. So next time you get the chance, stop by a discount store and see what you can find. Let your creativity shine!
